Where is Jesus according to the WBTS?
by Frazzled UBM ini have been reverse witnessing to a witness at work who i told about my witness wife.
i think he thinks he is well on his way to make me a study but i have asked him to provide evidence that the wbrts is what it claims to be by reference to how it was appointed and how the current gb came to inherit that authority.
but one issue we ahd was the position of jesus accordign to the wbts and he said that he sits in heaven at the right hand of jehovah planning the future.

Kate - I wouldn't try with my wife because she won't engage with me on doctrine, because I end up running rings around her and then the cognitive dissonance clicks in and she starts top melt down. I am beginning to think that she just stays in for social reasons ( freinds from home in the cong ehre and friedns and family back in the Philippines) so it doesn't amtter how obviously wrong the doctrine is she won't fade or DA. The guy at work though seems very eager to debate doctrine for now so I will see how that goes and I get to use all the ammunition I ahve built up buit can't usde on my wife. Fraz

I have been reverse witnessing to a Witness at work who I told about my Witness wife. But one issue we ahd was the position of Jesus accordign to the WBTS and he said that he sits in Heaven at the right hand of Jehovah planning the future. So I asked him but wait a minute didn't he invisibly return in 1914? I still haven't received an answer. Anyone care to predict what he will say? It will be interesting to see whetehr you guys can anticipate how he will respond to this question. Any suggestions on how I respond to his likely response would also be helpful. Thanks Fraz

How often do you see the Witnesses out on the ministry?
by rory-ks ini only ask because i hardly ever see them out on the ministry.
it is a very rare sighting to spot them actively engaged in the house to house ministry.
or out on the street work, in the marketplace, etc.. the other reason i ask is because they are constantly pictured as being on the preaching work.

Yes I also seem to be in a Witness rich neighbourhood - door-knocking a couple of times a year and camped out at the stations every morning - I tried to point out that this was a waste of time as people on their way to work would never stop. They said it was about the literature carts and getting people to take the literature and tha tthe S'tatistics' sh9owed that thios was working. When I cast doubt on the reliability of WBTS statistics the conversation stopped pretty quickly. Up until then they had been doing a good job of faking warmth.

suavojr - I do not begrudge you doing what you are doing - you are doing it for honourable motives and hopefully it will yield fruit by helping you find a way to liberate your wife and family. Good luck in this enterprise. I understand it must be very stressful to pretend...I struggle to maintain my silence with my wife and hold back everything I want to tell her about how wrong everything is that the GB teaches...remaining silent on this is a daily grind.

I tried to get suggestions on health warnings for the WBTS similar to those on cigarette packages but got no interest so I though I would repeat some of my suggestions here:
'Be warned about the veracity of the claims of this organisation: It has been predicting that Armageddon is imminent for more than 100 years!'
'Beware: This Organisation uses BITE' Alternatively 'Its BITE is worse than its bark'
'Believing this organisation may be damaging to your mental health, isolate you from humanity, break up your family, increase your chance of committing suicide and increase the risk your children will be exposed to paedophiles.'
'If you enjoy constantly being told you are not good enough: This organisation is for you!
Perhaps they could be converted to WBTS Badges e.g. 'Beware: We BITE' or 'Join us: Misery guaranteed'
As for Apostate Badges - well only being a UBM I wouldn't presume to speak for all you evil Apostates!

Today I Da'd -Twenty-five years ago. Regrets -some.
by Xanthippe inyes twenty-five years ago today we sent in our da letter.
some regrets, not about leaving the cult obviously, but sometimes when i read about people slowly fading and keeping in touch with family and friends i wonder if we should have done that.
of course it was before the internet in 1989 so we didn't know about people fading.. one day we were driving along and we had been talking about moving congregations because we knew something was wrong but of course we thought it was local.

quellycatface - I think this idea has been run before and while the sentiment is admirable I remember the weight of opinion was that you would be doing the WBTS a favour by confirming the persecution complex...but don't let me stop you maintaining you rage...I would love to be able to do something concrete to help bring down the evil empire...
